Ever since I was about five years old, I loved watching college and major league players play the game of baseball. I didn’t care what it took; all I knew was that I wanted to turn out to be just like them. It just so happens that I still have that mindset, but now I can actually do something about it. I constantly work on the little things to improve my game and my skill. I am one of those “one more rep” guys in the cages and even in fielding practice. As a leader for my team, I try to always be the first one on the field and the last one to leave the dugout after a game or practice. Although I love the game of baseball very much, academics will always come first. The first thing I always do when I get home is go upstairs and do my homework and study, nothing before. Even after a long day of school and baseball practice I always do my best to prepare myself in the classroom for success. The one thing that motivates me the most is that I don’t want to let myself, my family, or my teammates down; on and off the diamond. I always looked up to players that played well and strived on the baseball field and in the classroom. I want to be that role model that kids younger than me look up to.
