Personal Statement
Tayler Holtzinger
My name is Tayler Holtzinger and I am a 17 yrs. old Junior at Elkhart Central High School, in Elkhart IN. I will be graduating in June of 2018. I am 5’8 and 165 lbs. I am currently enrolled in a TRX fitness training class twice a week, and I lift weights and other cardio activities 4 days a week. I work 1-2 days a week at my summer leagues indoor facility, where I assist fellow baseball players I am also attending a private evening tutoring school to help increase my SAT scores, which I will be taking in January 2017. I am currently attending our local career center, taking an introduction to Health Studies. I believe I would like to pursue a career in Physical Therapy, or possibly become an athletic trainer. Whatever avenue I take I really believe I would like to stay near athletics.
I feel I would be a strong asset to anyone’s team due to the fact that I am a very hard worker. I believe in practice how you play. I enjoy winning, but I feel I am constantly learning whether I win or lose. I strive to be the best of my abilities. I have a good attitude on and off the field. I believe in making baseball fun and always giving 150%. I am open to learning new positions, I actually enjoy it, I believe it makes me a better player. I currently have the most experience at 3rd base, catching and short stop. I have played 2nd base, left and center field. I do a little bit of pitching. I have been known to get our team through a few innings. I have been in travel baseball for 5 years, prior to that I played on our local Little League team. In travel baseball, I played for the Elkhart Titans, before High School started we played approximately 70 games a season. (April-August) Then I played fall baseball on the weekends until our fields were covered in snow. Once in High School, I practiced from November to June, then started my summer travel league, where we played another 40 games. This year I made a difficult decision on leaving my past summer team, and going to a new team and organization. I need to advance my abilities and believe I can with my new team. I find nothing better than being on the baseball field, and I never get tired of it. I strive very hard on and off the field. I ask for an opportunity to show my abilities and my love of the game.
