My collegiate goals are to make it to a DI school. I want to be able to make an impact as soon as I step on campus. I want to be a weekend starter as a freshman. By junior year, I want to be the Friday night starter. I would like to be able to throw 93-95 in college.
I am more of a silent leader. I talk during the game, but I am not the type of person who gets confrontational. I lead by example. I like to put in more work than my competitors.
I think I am a good candidate for a DI college because I am a student before an athlete, as cliche as it sounds. You can't play if you don't study. My household has been raised on academics. My father was a very successful student at the U.S. Naval Academy. My mother was an honor graduate of Baylor University.
The thing that separates me from other recruits is that I thrive under pressure. The bigger the stage, the better I do. I have been throwing championship and state title games since I was 8. I think of myself as a bulldog on the mound. If something goes wrong, I put my hat down a little lower. When I am on the mound, I try not to show much emotion, except a smile. If someone makes an error, I don't pout. I try to have the next pitch go their way, so they can make a play. My defense makes me look good, so I try to appreciate them, so they have my back, and I have theirs.
