Personal Statement
Baseball has been an important part of my life since I was 9 years old. I began playing on the local Cal Ripken League and was chosen for the All-Star team that summer. Ever since, I have played a leadership role and helped my team in being successful each summer. As a team we were two time state champs and two time runner-up. I thrive on accepting new challenges; therefore, I've enjoyed learning how to play all positions except short stop and second base. I have lead my team in BA and SLG%.
My drive and determination has not only helped me be successful on the field, but also in the classroom. I currently hold a 4.0 GPA and take all honors classes. I am currently ranked 7th in a class of 350 students. Because my strongest subjects are Math and Science, I look forward to majoring in Engineering.
During the off-season, I lift weights and work on my baseball skills with a few of my teammates after school on most days. Although baseball is my favorite sport, I also play basketball. This helps me work on my stamina and strength before the baseball season begins again. I also work on our family farm. My parents have taught me the importance of balancing all of these things and helped me establish a strong work ethic.
My goal is to continue to apply all that I'm learning now and grow under experienced coaches while playing ball at a high competitive level in college.
