Tyler Wood '19 Recruiting Profile

I plan to be the best student athlete on the team, and to work hard for the team, and my coaching staff.  Playing in the MLB is my dream and I plan to work hard everyday to achieve that dream, but I also know that sometimes dreams do not come true, and my education will bring me all the other dreams that I will have in life.  My education and working hard in life is important to me.  I have been taught by my parents and coaches to work hard in life for what you want, and sometimes it is OK to lean on others such as my teammates, coaches, and parents to help you to achieve your goals. No one ever achieves life's goals alone, it takes a whole team to be successful.  My dad is constantly reminding me that baseball could someday end, and a good education is my future in life.  My dad owns his own business, so I've seen how important it is is to be good at what you do both on and off the field, and a good education will give me the tools I need to succeed.  I want to conduct myself both on and off the field in a sportsmanlike manner that my team, coaches, and family expect from me.  To give a 110 percent at all times, to do whatever my coach needs me to do to help the team, and to always respect the game.
