Personal Statement

My first baseball family was my grandfather who loved the game. He started teaching me when I was three. My Little League baseball family was where I had good coaches that taught me a lot about the game and the fundamentals of the game. Those coaches thought I had a lot of potential for my age so they took extra time with me to get me ready for travel ball. My travel ball family was where I helped my team win a National Championship in 2015. I’ve played shortstop and pitched for all my travel teams. During Middle School, I played basketball and soccer but my sport was baseball. This spring, I made the Varsity team and lettered as a Sophomore at St. Xavier High School in Louisville. We won the State Championship this past spring. I'm now looking for a College that I can help go as far as they can go. I also look forward to the coaches helping me get better,  the challenges in the classroom and athletically in college.

  • Exciting 2020 Two-Way Athletes From The 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Baseball Factory coaches and scouts saw an exciting group of 2020 two-way athletes at the 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament this past January. Teams at the next level value versatility and these 10 athletes – four of which are uncommitted prospects – all showed varied skill sets across the diamond, on the mound and with the bat. Max Bergmann | RHP/3B | 6’3”/183 | R/R | Saint Xavier HS (IN) | Uncommitted Max dominated on the mound, striking out 12 hitters and only walking one during his outing in Arizona. His lively fastball touched 88 mph and his off-speed stuff was advanced. Max also was on base in 3 of 6 plate appearances, was athletic in the infield and took a solid BP. http://members.baseballfactory.com/player/max/bergmann/03ee66239f34431db6c50f1f9bca9a41 01/18/2019 - 2019 Under Armour All-America Pre-Season Tournament Max is a 3B/RHP who is a prospect at both positions. At the plate - he has strong/centered balance with fluid rhythm to load. He takes an absolute hack - crushing the ball to the deep parts of the park (exit velocity = 88 mph). At 3B, he has plus lateral range, working from the ground-up with smooth actions. Transfer is quick as he fires strong throws (88 mph velocity) zipping across the diamond. He continues to show as an upside on the bump. This righty has a 3 pitch arsenal in which to keep hitters guessing. Arm strength has improved as he threw his top velocity to date at 88 mph. FB jumps out of his hand and shows with arm side run. Breaking ball displays 11/5 shape with late break. He maintains arm speed on his changeup with sinking action. Slider is harder with tight spin and late, short break He works tall and drives downhill, repeating well. Control is outstanding as he throws strikes with all his pitches. Max will play at a very high level and make an immediate impact, possibly as a two-way guy.
  • Camp/Event

  • 12/27/18 to 12/30/18
  • 12/27/2018 - Under Armour Baseball Factory Recruiting Classic (Ages 14-18) Max continues to improve his game, including now hitting 93mph on the radar gun. He also shows impressive raw power with the ability to drive the ball to all fields. His bat is fast through the zone and he delivers the barrel consistently to make hard contact. He is controlled and balanced throughout his swing to use all fields and cover the entire strike zone. At the hot corner, he shows all the tools of a quality defender at the next level. He is athletic and has quick, sure hands to field and get rid of the ball with lots of carry. On the hill, he shows a true three pitch mix, with command of each. He works ahead with his fastball up to 87mph and can put hitters away with a wipe out slider or fading changeup. Max is a top level talent who should make an impact at the next level very soon.
