Personal Statement

Placing 2nd in the Kansas 6a State Championship as a senior and earning an opportunity to continue my academic and baseball career at Cloud County Community College in Concordia, Kansas where I was the only freshman to earn significant starting time have been the highlights of my career.

However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when our team did not make the state tournament.  That experience helped me grow as a person and led me to re-focus my own efforts on becoming a better outfielder capable of playing at the college level.

I'm fortunate to be a part of an amazing program with a rich baseball history.  I learned the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice and leadership the year we did not make the state tournament.  I've worked hard on my academics including taking several AP classes each year and have been able to achieve a GPA of 4.00 in my first semester of college.  I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a four year college team but the character, work-ethic and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.

Left-handed showed an open set-up, early stride, hands work, back side in sync with hands, line drive path, finishes with extension, worked middle, 75 exit velocity, ran a 4.58 home-to-first. Right-handed has a balanced set-up, short early stride, aggressive swing, lower half works, line drive approach, maintains balance, finishes with extension, simple. Recorded an 80 mph exit velocity. Attacks ball in the outfield, clean exchanges, high three-quarters arm action, some arm quickness, throws had carry, 81 mph throwing velocity. • Camp/Event
  • Prep Baseball Report Fall Underclassmen Games
  • 10/19/14 to 10/19/14
  • Scott is a thin, athletic 5-foot-6, 134-pound switch-hitting outfielder. From both sides of the plate starts with a wide base, open stance, strides inline, smooth hand load, loose hands, lower half in sync, maintains balance, extension through the ball, middle of the field approach. Right-handed exit velocity up to 76 mph. Scott’s swing works well from both sides, just needs time, size and strength. Ran a 7.26 60-yard dash and 4.51 home-to-first. Collected one hit in the game and promptly stole second and third. Athletic footwork in the outfield, attacks the ball, long high three-quarters arm action, top throw clocked at 72 mph, mostly accurate throws.
  • Camp/Event

  • 8/04/14 to 8/05/14
  • Above average in Fielding Ability, Transfer and Athleticism. Average in Footwork and Arm Strength. "Added strength should help him as he is still young with plenty of room to grow" Outfield POP time was 3.6
  • Camp/Event
  • Kansas Underclass Prospect Games
  • 6/18/14 to 6/18/14
  • Scott is a 5-foot-6, 134-pound switch-hitting outfielder. In the outfield he showed quick hands/feet and threw from a high three-quarters slot. His throws had carry to them in the pre-game workouts and in the games - his top throw was clocked at 79 mph. At the plate, from the right side he starts with a wide base and slightly open stance and strides inline. Scott takes a very aggressive, slightly uphill swing and maintains balance in doing so. From the left side he starts with a wide base and open stance. He strides inline and takes a similarly aggressive swing as he does right-handed. His lower half has some explosiveness and is in sync with his upper half. His top exit velocity was clocked at 72 mph. He ran a 4.70 home-to-1B from the right side. He’s a skill guy with a wiry, athletic frame that is nowhere close to being done physically. http://www.prepbaseballreport.com/profiles/KS/Edward-Scott-4906832157
