Personal Statement
Hi my name is Trent Caime. I am a Sophomore at St. Paul’s High School in Covington, LA. I first fell in love with baseball at five years old. I remember playing games with my best friend and our dads in an empty lot in our neighborhood. Then, when I was nine, I stepped on the mound for the first time, and that’s when I knew that baseball was my sport. I’ve always loved the battle on the mound trying to outsmart the hitter. But my greatest baseball memory was running onto the field to dogpile with my teammates after winning the State Championship game. It was on the Varsity team that I grew as a player the most. I was fortunate to be a freshman on a team with eleven seniors who I looked up to. From these guys I learned about sacrifice and commitment to the team.
I am a hard worker who is always striving to continuously improve my skills. Even though I played on both the Varsity and Junior Varsity teams as a freshman, I was able to maintain a 4.3 average. There were many nights during the baseball season that I got home after 10:30 pm to study for school because it’s important to me that I excel both on and off the field. My goal is to play for a competitive program while obtaining a good education in the health sciences field. I’m very interested in being a physical therapist so that I can help other athletes stay healthy and play the sports they love. I believe I could add value to a baseball program because I’m a team player with a strong work ethic. In addition, I’m a versatile player that is able to play multiple positions in the infield as well as pitch. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
