Personal Statement

I want to play for a Division 1 or upper level Division 2 Baseball Program. I am currently playing for Coach Dan Blue at the Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) located in Catonsville MD. I am entering my sophomore year with the program.

Highlights of my freshman year are;

- I caught and played 1B only missing 2 games in our 52 game schedule

- Voted 1st Team Defense for all MD JUCO Colleges and won the MD JUCO Gold Glove Award at 1B while leading all CCBC catchers with a 38% runners caught stealing percentage

- Hit .304 with 50 hits and 38 RBI's in 50 games played

- Inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society for my 3.3 GPA including Dean's List in Fall 2015 with 3.7 GPA

I am a very athletic player which allows me the versatility to play other positions in addition to catching. Before this year I'd never played first base from little league through high school. My exceptional hand eye coordination and willingness to learn helped me excel at the new position in very little time.

I was selected to attend after Omar Minaya (former Mets GM) looked at my high school and summer videos. I was selected as the starting catcher for the Red Team for Game 1 of the event. My pop time and defense set had me ranked as the #2 catcher in the camp, however my athleticism and quickness allowed me to save several wild pitches. Working with pitchers for the 1st time, we limited the Blue Team (consisting of several D1 commits) to 2 runs in 5 innings of work.
