Cody Horsmon - 20...Personal Statement
I am Cody Horsmon and I have been a multi - sport athlete at Calvert High School. I have played Varsity Baseball, as a starting outfielder, since 10th grade. I play with two travel teams where I am the starting center fielder. I am the lead off batter for both teams. As a 6'0", 175 lb player, I am pursuing a baseball scholarship particularly in the south east and Mid Atlantic regions. I am open to quality academic schools of any size that have a great baseball reputation. Currently, my major of interest is Business/Sports Management and construction management.
In the fall of 2014, I earned the MVP award for the Chesapeake Baseball Association. I am passionate about the game of baseball and want to continue my career well beyond the high school level. I am confident that with my ability and consistent hard work I will reach my goals.

- Outfield Strengths: Quick efficient footwork, good agility,fields out in front with soft,sure hands, proper footwork on throws, gets behind the ball in the air, clean exchange, moves well laterally. Hitting Strengths: Square stance, level swing path, direct bat path, stays inside the ball, good set up, good middle approach.

- Athletic, solid frame at 5-foot-11, 175-pounds. Hits from a slightly open set up with rhythm. Short load and stride to hitting position. Gets some lower half usage. Level bat path with quick hands. Exit velocity of 75 mph. Sound footwork from the outfield. Shows clean exchange and works thru the ball well. Short arm action throwing from a high ¾ arm angle. Throws had some carry on them at 78 mph. Ran a 7.56 60-yard dash. Ran a 1.71 10-yd dash.
