Personal Statement
Just wanted to add an update. I am currently a Sophomore at Prince George's CC in MD. I started every game at SS and batted around .340 for the season. I was in the top 3 in just about every offensive category. I also earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention. I would like to continue to play SS but know that I may have to move to second. I can play 3rd and OF as well.
No matter what level I have played I have always had the drive to play at the next level. I take fielding and hit daily. I continue to work to get bigger, stronger, and faster. I work out with strength & conditioning coaches, I attend weekly hitting lessons and I am coached by former Division I and former MLB coaches.
As a freshman in high school I was the starting shortstop on our varsity team and batted in the two slot. I had over a 97% fielding percentage and batted .346 and was in the top 3 in team RBI's. I feel my biggest contribution to the team is my leadership and what I value the most is the respect I have from my teammates, especially the upper classmen.
As a player I don't just rely on my high school season. I play on several different travel teams. Most notably is the Rawlings A's prospects of Maryland 16u national team. I also am a member of the 16U Southern Maryland Bulldogs and the 18U Southern Maryland Sting. I believe I'm the kind of recruit you are looking for because of my dedication to myself to become a better player and athlete and more importantly my dedication to the team! As the shortstop I have worked hard to become the leader on the field and in the dug out as well. I lead by example!
My collegiate goals would to first find a school where I can get a quality education that will better prepare me for my long-term success. As an athlete I would like to compete to be a starter as a Freshman and be a strong contributor to the teams success. I would love to be on a team that can compete for the college World Series. As a player, I believe I would make a great teammate because I not only play multiple positions, I always stay positive and work to keep my teammates motivated. As a shortstop I am very comfortable directing the team and ensuring my teammates understand the situation at hand. I have always been the type of player to play hard and work hard and more importantly I continue to work off the field to continue to improve not only my athletic abilities but my academic abilities as well.
