Personal Statement
My name is Brayden Zimmerman I am a Senior at Blissfield High School in Blissfield Michigan. My passion for baseball started when I was 4 years old. I have played on a league every year since then as well as a travel team for the past 6 years. I have played in every position on the field but my first choice position is 1st base. I work very hard at my academics; I carried a 4.0 through 3 years of middle school and ended my freshman year of high school with a 3.9 GPA, a 3.7 my sophomore year & a 3.6 my Junior year. When I had the honor of playing baseball at Vero Beach Florida the coaches taught us to live by the 3 A's & that has stuck with me: Attitude, Academics & Athletics!
I have had some pretty amazing experiences with baseball over the past several years. As a 9 year old our little league team won districts and we went on to play in the State playoffs in Cheboygan, MI. At age 13 I was selected to play on a National Team through Under Armour/Baseball Factory in Vero Beach Florida that was even more then I could of hoped for. That week gave me a glimpse of what life could be as a college player and the spark grew from there. In 2012 I attended 6 showcases through the help of Top 96. I attended Indianapolis, MSU, Alma, Central Michigan University, Hillsdale College & the University of Pittsburgh. In 2013 & 2014 I attended over 10 showcases/prospect camps each year. This year our senior league team won districts and went on to play in the State playoffs in Midland MI; we played well but fell short in the semi finals.
I would like to pursue studies in Athletic Training and Physical Therapy. I do know without a doubt that I do want to play baseball at the college level and to play professional someday; now that's an aspiration I have always had!
I do also play both football and basketball for Blissfield High School. I currently weight lift 4 days a week. I'm going on my 7th year as a member of our local 4-H club. I raise animals to help teach myself patience & discipline. The money I raise at auction is put toward my future college expenses that I know will come sooner then later.
I look forward to the last year of high school and showcases. I'm excited to continue to train toward my goal of playing baseball at the college level and finding that University that will be the perfect fit for me.
