Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Nick Rauch and I am a two sport athlete from Howell, Michigan. At 6'3", 195 lbs., I play TE/LB in football and am a corner infielder in baseball - earning Varsity letters in both sports my sophomore year. My physical attributes of size, soft hands and speed (4.7 sec. 40 time) allow me to enjoy playing football, but my passion is for the game of baseball.
At the end of the football season, I can't wait to begin the offseason training for the upcoming baseball season. My offseason training plan includes speed and agility workouts, weight training with a personal trainer and yoga to improve my flexibility. Additionally, I am in the batting cages at least 3 times a week working on my swing. If I do get some free time I like to spend it fishing.
Academically, I've had some challenges to overcome. I was diagnosed with Dyslexia at age 7 which initially made school very difficult for me. But with any challenge comes an opportunity to improve, and I feel that learning to deal with Dyslexia has made me a better student, athlete and overall person. Dyslexia forced me to learn the value of hard work and never giving up when working to achieve my goals at an early age. Currently, I have a 3.2 GPA entering my Junior year. Additionally, I have been selected to be a "Link Crew" leader, where I will help lead, guide and support incoming freshmen during their transition to high school. In college, I intend to pursue a degree in business.
I feel I am a very coachable player with a superb work ethic. I am driven by my desire to succeed and continue playing as long as my love for the game will allow. Thank you for taking time to review my profile and good luck in your upcoming season.
