Personal Statement
Making the HS varsity baseball team as the starting 3B as a sophomore, at the Michigan's largest class A high school in the state with over 3000 kids, then going onto win the Michigan State championship regional game in the same season was the highlight of my high school career. Additionally, being named the MVP of my freshman basketball team, where I averaged about 18 points a game as the starting forward. I am a 3-sport athlete at the largest class A school in Michigan, including playing wide-receiver on the football team where I scored 6 touchdowns. I am a 3-year starter, on the Macomb Dakota Varsity baseball team, where I am the starting shortstop and pitcher for our varsity team. I play on the 18U Detroit Metro Stars summer team, where we are one of the top ranked teams in the state. We play against the state’s top competition, and have won many large tournaments over the past couple seasons. I hit lead-off for our team, and had a batting average over .400 for this past season and had a high on-base percentage. I am a leader for both my high school and summer teams and have appeared in multiple news articles either by name or by picture where my high school coach talks about our team.
I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I value the education aspect of the student-athlete experience as much as the great athletic experiences I hope to be part of. My goal academically is to pursue a degree in Business Management, Sports Management or Computer Science. I'm looking for a college baseball program where I can further develop my skills and strength both on the field and in the class room. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a team in a major conference, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program. As a student-athlete who is driven to be successful in all facets and pursuits, I know I have the skills and experience to be a leader on your team!
