Coming into my freshman season I was just extremely happy to be a major contributor on a varsity baseball team that had won back to back regional titles the previous two seasons. Sophomore year I was poised to improve my offensive game which I lacked in my freshman season. By the start of my junior season I had done a lot of growing and maturing as an athlete and student. I was ready to lead my team, but when I broke my leg in the 5th game of the season is when I grew the most in my athletic career. During my injury I learned other ways to help lead my team and be a better teammate. I was able to learn things about the game I never would have, and I grew a stronger appreciation for the greatest prize of all, the opportunity to play! When I got my opportunity to play again that season I wasn’t 100% healthy but I helped my team to a conference title with a win on the mound in the championship game.
In high school it was always my goal to maintain a 3.70 GPA. In college I realize the classes will be harder and a lot of my time will be dedicated to baseball so I believe a realistic goal would be a 3.50 GPA. As of right now I plan to either be a high school teacher and high school coach, or be an athletic trainer.
As a baseball player I pride myself on being the best teammate I can be. I want to compete and get better every day and do whatever I can to help the team win. On the field my strength has always been my versatility. But I would say the positions I play the best are middle infield and pitcher.
