Personal Statement
In 2014 I started weight lifting because I did not want to remain "the big guy" for the rest of my life. I have always loved baseball and it has always been the love of my life and I knew that in order to develop my skills, lifting had to play a key role in my life. I began deadlifting and bench pressing with a personal trainer and have continued to build muscle working my way up to my goal of deadlifting 500 pounds which I should achieve in a year! This lift has had an amazing impact on my baseball development and it has really helped me engage my lower half. I am always excited when baseball starts up because that is where I see results. I believe that I am a good candidate for your team because I am not as much a vocal leader as I am a leader by example. I want my teammates to see that I am working to get better and help the team and put the mindset in them to do the same. But I am not afraid to get vocal and get the team to work if they are messing around, there is a time and a place and if I see that people are getting sidetracked or not working to improve I will let them know and I will get them to work. Academically I am not as strong as I am in the weight room but I try to work just as hard in the classroom as I do on the field. If you are looking for someone who can lead on and off the field, I can be your man.
