I was a multiple sport, accomplished athlete up until my freshman year of high school. Prior, I excelled in baseball, basketball, football, volleyball and wrestling. Realizing that my true passion lies with the game of baseball, as a sophomore (class of 2015), I am now dedicated to the year-round pursuit of all things that will help me get to the next level of the sport I love - baseball. I work diligently with my trainer and batting coach weekly, and also attend group workout sessions 3-4 times per week. I am not only a talented athlete. I am a leader and true TEAMmate. I have earned the respect of every coach I've encountered, and believe in respect for the game.
During my freshman year, I was one of only two freshman to make the Glenn High School Junior Varsity baseball team. I was a starter and either batted lead off or in the 2-hole. During the summer, I played my second season of American Legion Baseball with a batting average of .560. Our Post 36 Junior Legion team finished third in the State Tournament.
I began my sophomore year at East Forsyth High School and I'm one of the two underclassmen to make the Varsity team. East Forsyth is a 4AA High school in my hometown of Kernersville NC.
I realize that colleges are looking for student athletes and academics will go hand in hand with being recruited by a Division I or ll college. I currently have a weighted GPA of 4.0. I have consistently been an Honor Roll Student and was given the FRED award during the first quarter of this school year. I have volunteered at my local Pop Warner and Little League complexes since age 13, and continue to work with the youth, with the help of my father, who is a football coach.
This summer, I am participating in American Legion Baseball with Post 36 Kernersville, NC. With 22 games into the season, my batting average is .414. God is good! Phil 4:13
