Personal Statement

If I were to describe myself; I would not describe myself as just a baseball player or just an athelete.  I would describe myself as a hard worker, team player, intellectual who has never allowed the circumstances of my life to deter me from becoming a better person today than I was on yesterday.  There have been many adversities in my life but it is my Faith in God that helps me believe that adversity is just a stepping stone to greatness.  I refuse to quit on baseball, in the classroom or waiver in my faith.

In my house the rules with my mom are simple for my brother and I; "no grades, no plays".  So I know that my performance in the classroom is just as important as my performance on the baseball or soccer field.  I knew the first time I stepped up to the plate to play t-ball that this was something that I loved.  Playing baseball is a driving force in many areas of my life.  I have been blessed to have great coaches that have helped me to become better and better.  I have never thought about giving up baseball but I have also been hurt by the politics that sometime surround the game in a small rural area such as mine.  I just use that adversity to grow not only as a baseball player but as a youngman.

What makes me different from other recruits is that my ability to play baseball and excel in several sports does not totally define who I am as a young man.  Yes, each year I get stronger, run faster, cover more area in the outfield and grow as a batter but there is so much more that defines who I am becoming.  My faith in God, my belief that it takes a team to win or lose, the knowledge that I gain in the classroom and my volunteer work with and for others is helping mold my future.  I look forward to attending a four year university and hopefully playing baseball at the collegiate level and maybe even beyond.  I also aspire to work in the medical field as a Nurse or in some area of Sports Medicine.  I feel that I am coachable and very eager to learn.  The one quote that I remind myself daily is "The difference between a successful person and others is not lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but a lack of will". – Vince Lombardi,

Events

  • Camp/Event
  • Robbie Allen Baseball Camp at Brunswick Community College
  • 12/12/15 to 12/12/15
  • The Robbie Allen Baseball Camps at Brunswick Community College are designed to help players develop their skill. Each player will receive hands on instruction from our coaching staff that will help the player take his game to the next level. These camps are a great way to showcase your skill to the BCC coaching staff and to D-1 coaches that will assist with our camps.
  • Camp/Event
  • Belmont Abbey College
  • 11/21/15 to 11/21/15
  • This camp was very enjoyable and I also learned many new things. I felt decent about how I executed my skills but there is always room for growth and development. I feel that I batted well, threw well and picked up a little speed on the 60 BUT I know I can and will improve in all areas.
  • Camp/Event
  • University of North Carolina at Pembroke - UNCP
  • 11/08/15 to 11/08/15
  • I really enjoyed the coaches and staff; I did well overall (did not even mind the cold and the rain). This camp helped me realize (even more) that I have have room to learn and grow in many areas.
