Personal Statement
I am a student at Lincoln East High School, a class A school with approximately 1,500 students. I played on the Varsity baseball team in the spring of this year. I'm 5'11", 165 pounds and my primary position is a starting RHP. In the summer, I play Senior Legion Baseball with Lincoln U-Stop. My goal is to further my baseball career to the collegiate level and ultimately to the professional level. I consider myself a student of the game of baseball because I'm continually evaluating myself and trying to improve my pitching. Every day I study mechanics and do workouts to strengthen myself as a pitcher.
Academics are equally important to me. I've achieved a 4.19 GPA and will continue strive to be a strong student. I've been on the Honor Roll continuously since 2009 from middle school to East High School. As a senior, I will be taking a difficult schedule to continue my focus on academics. I pride myself in my study habits and work ethic both in and out of the classroom. Lastly, I have been recognized as a student with strong character and leadership. In 2011, I was named KFRX B106.3 Student of the Week an award for leadership, academics and character. Also, in 2012, I received the Student Leadership Award, selected and recognized by my teachers. In my freshman year at East High, I was honored to receive the 2013 Shining Star Award, a recognition for outstanding character and academic excellence. It is always important to me to be a positive classmate or teammate who helps the group reach success.
Overall, it has been a lifelong dream of mine to play baseball at the highest level. Ever since I've set myself to that standard, I've been trying to do everything in my power to make that dream become a reality. College is the next step towards that dream, and I am excited to make an impact academically and athletically wherever I go. My expectations for myself would be to contribute significantly to the success of the next team I join. Thank you for reviewing my information and please contact me for additional information.
