One of my best attributes is that I have an incredibly hard work ethic. I know that whatever choices I make to improve and to better myself is firmly in my own hands. I use every advantage that I am fortunate enough to receive from my parents, my school and my coaches to pursue my goals. I love the game of baseball and want it to be played with honesty and integrity. I am an astute student of the game as well as the classroom.
I work hard at improving my game and improving myself as a person each day. Although I lost my Dad when I was only 3 years old, I was fortunate to have people in my life give up their time and share their talents to help me develop both as an individual and as a ball player. The list is long of those that helped me fall in love with the sport and dedicate their time to help me improve, but none were more influential than my grandfather. In baseball, he instructed me how to throw a proper knuckle ball, but most importantly, he taught me how to be a better person. I learned from him to win with class and loose with class and that a man's handshake was his word and that it meant something. The most important lesson he impressed on me was that there were two things no one could ever take away from a person, their character and their education. I agree and I believe you need to protect and pursue them both.
I absolutely love the game of baseball but realize academics are even more important. I always challenge myself to meet and exceed expectations both in the classroom and on the ball field. My education goal is to complete a degree in computer engineering with aspirations of becoming a designer. In high school, I am in numerous honors classes and routinely look for additional opportunities to grow. For these reasons, I am searching for a college that has a strong baseball and academic program.
I am very competitive in the classroom and passionate about the game on the field. My primary position is third base but my greatest asset is my hitting ability. My bat speed at impact is 88mph and my hand speed puts me in the 98% ranking as noted at Perfect Game's site. I routinely hit to all fields and am consistent as noted in an article written highlighting selected batting standouts at the Top Northeast Prospect Showcase and was selected to be placed on the Rawlings Top Prospect Team. I also value being part of a team, it's a privilege to work alongside my teammates as we push each other to reach our goals. In summation, I am a quiet, respectful person who leads by example. Most importantly, I am a person who believes that hard work and dedication will pay dividends on the field, in the classroom, as well as all aspects of my life.
