Personal Statement
When I was four, my mom faked my age and said I was five so I would be eligible to play in the town baseball league. I have been playing baseball ever since. I am an athlete who is disciplined, positive, and open to being coached so I can achieve my fullest potential. Besides baseball, I play on my school's varsity basketball team and have been running on the cross country team for the last three years to stay in shape for baseball and basketball. I love my basketball coach because he is not afraid to go tough on me. His high standards make my standards higher. I am a better athlete because of him.
I also take a huge amount of pride in my academics. I have a 95.15 average over three years of high school. I take classes at the Honors and AP levels. This year I was inducted into the Latin National Honor Society. I also love animals, especially dogs, and think I might want to study animal science or biology in college. In the fall, I will be challenging myself and testing my interests for college with AP Biology. I have heard it is a tough course but I believe I am up to the challenge.
One of my favorite parts of high school has been being captain of the baseball team. I feel that I have something to share with the younger athletes that encourages them to love our sport like I do and to always work toward self-improvement. I think I have helped make their experience on the team better.
