Personal Statement
My name is Anthony Coombs and I am a 17 year old 5'11 160 lb. Junior, Class of 2017. I am a two sport athlete (Baseball & Football). At the current time, I have a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, but am working hard to increase my GPA. I have started varsity baseball at Cumberland Regional High School as a sophomore and made First Team All-Conference Centerfielder that year. My primary position is centerfield and my secondary position is catcher. However, I am a well-rounded player and have the ability to play any position. During my sophomore year, as lead-off batter, I led my team with a batting average of .426, stole 20 bases out of 21 attempts, and had an OBP of .567. My goal in college is to help my team with my speed in the outfield and my ability to get on base. My best held running times are as follows: 4.2 (home to first), 6.7 (60 yard dash time recorded by All Star Baseball Academy at a showcase held at Rowan University) and 4.7 (40 yard dash time recorded for football at my high school of my junior year.)

To Whom it May Concern:
It is with pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Anthony Coombs. I have had the opportunity to coach Anthony from Little League up to American Legion Baseball. Anthony is a team player with advance knowledge of the game. I think that Anthony's versatility is probably his best quality. He has played centerfield, middle infield, catcher and pitcher for me at a high level. With his strong arm, exceptional speed and hitting he has helped our team many times from the lead off position. Anthony comes from a strong supportative family and it shows in his game. If you would like to talk further or have any questions that I could be helpful with, feel free to contact me.
Thank you,

I am writing in regard to Anthony Coombs, a young man with whom I am pleased to have had the opportunity to coach over the last several years. In addition to his outstanding baseball talents, his character says a lot about him as well. I have watched him grow into a fine young adult both on and off the field. He continually displays great sportsmanship on the field, and always gives 100% to his team and fellow team mates. I couldn't say more about Anthony than to say I would be grateful to have an entire team made up of players exactly like this fine young man.
Thank you,
