My name is David Stec. I am currently a student at Hamilton High School East. I am currently a member of the Varsity Baseball and Basketball teams here at Steinert. We are one of the top baseball programs in the state. I am a member of the Student Government Association. I am a very hard worker on the field and off. I work to keep my academics around a 4.0. Whenever I get advice on how to get better I always am listening. Getting better is something I know is always possible and I am willing to do whatever I can to do that. I am a great teammate and easy to get along with. I am always pushing my teammates to get better along side of me. I have great leadership skills and I put them to use whenever necessary. I am always on time and I never talk back to a coach or an adult in general. As a pitcher, I know how to keep my opponents guessing. My pitches include a 4-seam fastball, a 2-seam fastball, a 12-6 breakingball, a slider, and a circle change. My 4-seam fastball ranges from 82-85 MPH but I am always working to get that up. It has life and I have the ability to command it and throw it where ever I have to. My 2-seam fast ball has late movement of about 2-3 inches. I can use it to jam or confuse a right handed or left handed batter. My 12-6 breakingball is about 8-10 MPH slower than my 4-seam. I can throw it for a strike or for a swing and miss in the dirt. I hide the ball well enough that hitters have a hard time picking it up. My slider is my best pitch. It is only about 4-6 MPH off my fastball and moves about 4-6 inches side-to-side. It can be thrown for a strike, start at the batter's body and come in for a strike, or start in the middle of the plate for a strike but end up a few inches off the plate for a swing and miss. My circle change is held as a 2-seam circle change. I usually throw it in the middle of the plate and trust it to fool the hitter and move enough that he cannot hit it. It is a few MPH slower than my slider but can move in or out on a left handed or a right handed hitter. I hope you will take the time to look at my profile and select me to play for your collegiate team.
