Personal Statement
I find academics to be important because they help provide a solid foundation for the success that one finds in life. Academics expose me to a variety of information and strategies that I can use when problems present themselves. I view academics as being intertwined with my future. Each day I learn something new, and how I handle that and utilize it will help determine the outcome of the events I encounter.
I play the game of baseball because I get great enjoyment from it. I love how the sport pushes me to become better individually, yet allows me to work with others as a team. Also, having played on many teams, I have learned how to become a better leader on and off the field. Baseball helps me maintain a balance of work and play in my life.
When I get to the college level, I look forward to being able to continue to grow in both my ability and understanding of the game, all while I am part of a team. I look forward to setting both personal and team goals in college, both on and off of the field, and helping the team's players push one another to accomplish our goals.
