Personal Statement
I am a 6’1, left-handed pitcher and 1st baseman from Nyack, NY and will graduate in 2019. I have a 3.94 GPA and sit in the top 10% of my class. My dream is to play DI baseball at a top academic institution with a great “college town” atmosphere.
I love the game of baseball and I love learning. I am as much a student of the game as I am a student in the classroom.
As a hitter, I understand how mental this game is and enjoy the challenge. I focus on two things while hitting - pitch selection and hitting line drives. As a pitcher, I love setting up batters and picking off base runners. Understanding how to call a game effectively, keeping batters off balance and picking off base-runners are my greatest strengths. At the same time, academics are a high priority. I believe the key to success is education. Thus, I approach baseball and education the same way – I learn, study, prepare, improve my skills, set goals, focus and perform when tested. With these skills and plain, old-fashioned hard work, I hope to thrive in the classroom and on the baseball field in college.
