Personal Statement

Happy to say I have committed to TCNJ for baseball and school. Blessed to be able to attend such a great school. Thanks to all the coaches who showed interest in me.

A new season a new direction.....I gave my stats first over the spring and summer and although the feedback was good it was not all I was hoping for. So I am deciding to tell coaches how I can improve their team.  Simply, I get guys out. I am not the 90+ MPH pitcher. But I have three dependable pitches and can throw them for strikes on any count. Last week I struck out 2 guys on a 3-2 count with a change up. I believed  in myself enough to do it. And it worked. My 2 seam fastball allows me the option to throw it because it moves...really late and I get a lot of ground ball outs. If you are looking for a guy that gets guys out, walks few and strikes out his share, I am your man. I hope to hear from you. If you want my stats from the summer read below.

FINAL SUMMER 2015 STATS    45.1 IP   32 HITS    10 ER   20 BB  42 KS   1.54 ERA

Threw my final summer start last night. It was not my best performance but still was pretty solid. I pitched 4.1 innings and gave up 4 hits and 3 walks. I was able to strike out 4 and limit the damage to 1 earned run. I am back from North Carolina where I threw well. It was a great challenge because the umpire had the tightest strikezone I had ever faced. I walked 3 batters in 5 innings a season high but was able to pitch to contact and get outs. I had 5 k's and gave up 4 hits and 2 ER. I am really happy with how I am pitching. We played at Bryant University against a team from Boston and I threw a complete game 4 hitter with 1 walk and 6 Ks. Another outing with 0 earned runs. I hope to keep it up in North Carolina next week. I had my best outing of the summer yesterday in the Diamond Nation 18U World Series. We played the Delaware Diamonds a team with a lot of D1 and D2 guys that have graduated High School. They had been runnerup in the 100 team tournament the week before. I threw 5 inninings and gave up just 2 hits and walked 1 and  struckout 5. No runs allowed. I felt totally in control of all the pitches.

The season ended and the team went to the State Quarterfinals. I had a solid first season on varsity with 20 strikeouts and 4 walks. My ERA ended up 1.86.

What a week, the team wins the Somerset County Championship on Saturday and States started today. I closed out the last 3 innings of the State game and allowed 1 hit, 0 BB and had 6 strikeouts,  No runs allowed and got the save. For the year, I have an 1.58 ERA and a .75 WHIP and a .178 BAA. The most satisfying thing to me is I have 19 strikeouts and 1 walk in 13 1/3 innings. Over the summer last year Coach asked me to work on my command and I think I have done a great job of that.

I received my SAT scores for March 2015 and had 1160/1600. I want to retake to get to my goal of 1250 combined and will retake them in June.

In Fall Ball  I accomplished my goal of not letting up a run. I played in the Diamond Nation Varsity League which has a combination of Club and High School teams. My 3 main pitches really were effective and the results show it. I  pitched 16 innings mostly in relief and closer roles.  I  gave up just 7 hits walked 6 and struck out 17. The ERA remains 0.00  and the Batting Average Against is .117  (7/60).  The team did really well advancing to the Semi-finals.

I recently attended the Seton Hall Mike Sheppard Baseball Camp where I was awarded the MVP for the High School Division. (7/28-7/31)
