Personal Statement
My name is Jonathan Meaney I am presently a senior at Manchester high school in NJ. I am a very hard working student athlete always trying to improve myself both on and off the field. If I were to describe myself briefly I would say that my strongest characteristics are determination and the ability to absorb what others are trying to teach. This season I am the starting Varsity SS and also play the outfield while pitching when needed. As a team player I'm very versatile and willing to play where ever the coach needs me to help the team succeed. During the past 2 varsity seasons,Im currently batting 336 with 18 doubles 2 triples and 4 home runs.I pride myself on being up at the plate with the game on the line, that's why I spend 7 days a week in the cages preparing for that moment.I would also like to state that I am on top of all academic work as well, this is just as important as sports.Presently I have been an honor roll student my entire high school career. At this time I'm running for class president also I am part of the Bible Club,Math Club as well as peer mentor. I very much enjoy coaching youth athletes in baseball and wrestling which is the other Varsity sport I take part in. .My goal is to play college baseball and if life and baseball take me further then that I would be very great full.I come from a wrestling family with a very disciplined life style. From a young age my father started to teach us that nothing is giving to you, hard work is the only way to achieve goals. I feel I am a leader by example and will always be there for team mates.I would like to become a teacher so I can give back to my community the same opportunities that were giving to me.Thank you for looking and reading my profileJonathan Meaney
