My name is Mathew Magura and I am a 5'11" 165 lb middle infielder, outfielder, and a right handed pitcher. I've played baseball for over 12 years for many different teams experiencing many different levels of competition. I started playing varsity baseball for my high school team my sophomore year and every year since. Coaches tend to think of me as a "utility" player for the many different positions I can play. For example on the High Point Knights travel team I have played shortstop, second base, third base, center field, left field, and pitcher. These experiences of playing different positions gives me a chance to see the game played through many different aspects thus giving me a better understanding of the chemistry of the game. As a power hitter, on most of my teams I bat in the top 4 batters of the lineup. I was a leadoff batter my junior year for my high school team and a 4 batter on the High Point Knights. I take great pride in the work I put on and off the field. I currently maintain a 3.8 GPA while still being an active member of student council. I train for baseball all year round by lifting weights and regularly working on my skills at batting cages. I have devoted many hours of blood, sweat, and tears to this game while achieving pride and personal satisfaction as a result.
