Personal Statement
In January of 2013 I was part of a mission team who visited the Dominican Republic. We spent 4 days in Las Terranes where we blessed underprivileged children with gifts and baseball equipment. The mission team was sponsored by my local church and the baseball supplies were graciously donated by my high school. It was a life changing experience. At the NYC Armory New Balance games, I set a personal record in the 4 x 200 meter relay of 22:88 and helped my team set a school record time of 1:31:12 for our 150 year old institution. This record lead to our being invited to run at the prestigious Millrose games featured on ESPN. It was a proud and thrilling moment that I will remember always.
