One of my earliest memories is playing catch with my dad and wanting to play on a team. When I was 5 years old, I finally got to play tee-ball and have been in love with the game ever since.
Baseball has taught me a lot of life lessons. When I was younger, I was always one of the shorter kids on the team and was not given as many opportunities to showcase my talent as the taller kids. Because of this, I had to work twice as hard to prove myself to my coaches. This helped me develop a strong work ethic which has helped me become a valuable player for all my teams. I started to see the benefits of my hard work when at 11 years old, I was selected to play for the Town of Cary All Star Team, which went on to win the SWAC 12U State Championship, something a team from Cary, NC had never done before. Although it was difficult at times, I am thankful for the challenges I faced because now that I am finally growing (I am currently 6’ and still growing) I realize that they are what made me into the person and player I am today.
Along with sports, I have always appreciated and valued education. I think this is why I am a good student. My academic goals for high school are to maintain my excellent GPA and get into a top college where I would like to major in engineering.
I am an outgoing person and get along well with my teammates and coaches. I am a quick learner and able to adapt to change. My parents have taught me good manners, to work hard and be willing to learn from others, to have a positive attitude, and to trust in my abilities - principles I try to apply both on and off the field.
