My name is Dylan Resk and I just entered my Junior year in High School. I turned 16 late summer 2013. I am 6'2, 195 pounds.
The most important thing to me right now is to get a great education at a division 1 University/College and play baseball at the highest level possible for their team. I would prefer to go to an East Coast School where some of the college scouts may know me better. I am looking for a school which has a committed program for the players and coaches with a good culture to play in and grow. It must match the commitment I have been making toward baseball from an early age.
I have been training with a private instructors since I was 9 years old, all year round 3-4 times a week which is not easy to do in NY. My trainers have all played in the minors or majors and spend half of my lesson on the mental approach to life and the game of baseball. All of my coaches like my presence on the baseball diamond. I am confident and collective and never dwell on the last play or swing. They like me in pressure situations because I want to be there and help my team win the game anyway I can. Sometimes that means walking (which happens alot), getting a hit, or bunting...whatever it takes to advance runners. I don't feel the pressure because I have been taught that failure is a large part of life and this game of baseball. But, I always want to be on the mound or in the lineup to win the game no matter what!
I try to teach these attributes to younger little league players all the time. Hitting off of a tee, repetition, running and fielding. All these things have to be worked on constantly.
Some of my greatest accomplishment currently are: 1. Making the Varsity team this year and becoming the starting 3rd Baseman as a Sophomore while being selected All-League. 2. Being invited to play baseball for an East Cobb Georgia team all summer 3. Making the all tournament team in the 2013 BCS Perfect Game Tournament in Ft. Myers and placing 3rd among players in slugging and OPS 4. Being sponsored and invited as a 15 year old to try out for the Area Code Games 5. Helping our small town of Ardsley win it's first ever NYS District title (in 56 years) as part of the Little League World series tournament.
I have focused on my strength, speed and agility to round out my overall playing ability to compete with the top athletes to prepare for the intense 2014 Showcase schedule with Tri-State Arsenal. This will also compliment my football season as well.
