Joe Canonaco '16 Recruiting Profile

As a young kid, the only sport I ever dreamed about was baseball. My first year of baseball was when I was five, and ever since then the love of the game just kept growing stronger and stronger. Since playing tee-ball, I've always wanted to be the best on my team which motivated me to keep training, give 100%, and do my absolute best. I've had a competetive fire within me for years and I think it's one of my strengths as a baseball player.

I would welcome the opportunity to play college baseball. My goals in my career of college baseball include having a starting position, maintaining an ERA under 3, winning as many games as possible for my team, and becoming a better baseball player overall.

Since I will be practicing as much as possible, my skills pitching wise will increase. I know that college will be a whole different level of baseball, so I am now attending a gym to become a stronger and more pprepared player. Having a high baseball IQ is very important, so I go through all possible situations that could arise while on the mound.

I will be a good asset to your team because overall I am very hard working, competetive and dedicated both on the field and in the classroom. My skills on the diamond will most certainly benefit your team. I will without a doubt put the team ahead of myself. If there is a teammate in need of help I would always make myself available to them.

I also understand that education is just as important as athletics. I've always prided myself on being the best student-athlete that I can be.  Along with baseball I hope to have a future in education.
