Personal Statement
I have been passionate about baseball ever since I can remember. I will never forget my first live game, walking through the dome and seeing that field for the first time in person, I knew from that moment, I wanted to be a baseball player.
Derek Jeter has been very influential toward my passion for the game, not only because he is a great player, but because he is a great leader and role model. He is one of the most talented players on the field but he is always humble, he puts his team first and never loses his cool. I have always aspired to be that kind of athlete, one who is not only a great individual player, but a great team player and leader.
I take that same kind of passion and determination with me in all that I do including my school work. I was named to the Junior National Honor Society Student in middle school, and am working to achieve the same status for the National Honor Society in High School. I currently have a 94% GPA while challenging myself with courses like AP history and Honors courses rather than taking the easy route. I am on the cross country and winter track team and I understand the value of hard work and determination. I enjoy giving back by volunteering at for causes like the like the midnight run at my church and by delivering meals to the poor with the local food bank. I have also volunteered the last two summers at a sports camp for young children, which has taught me lots of patience!
My goal is to play baseball at a great school. I look forward to success both athletically and academically. I am ready for the challenges that College will bring, and hope to learn as much as possible both on and off the field. I am confident that if you accept me into program you will not be disappointed.
