Christopher Kelly '16 Recruiting Profile

Hello and thank you for viewing my profile. I am currently attending Nanuet Senior High School in Nanuet, NY, Class of 2016. Additionally, this summer I will be playing for the NJ Marlins 17u Prospect Team. This fall I will be starting my senior year and the application process for college. As a sophomore, I played with the JV team but then I was called up to the Varsity level for the playoffs. As a junior, this year I started 6 games, including one complete game four hitter shutout, and finished with a record of 2-2. This year, my most notable start was my first appearance as a varsity pitcher; I threw 6 complete innings against the 2015 Class A NYS champions, Byram Hills, and got a 3-1 victory.

Each day I put in countless hours of work to improve and perfect my skills. I throw 5-7 times a week, including a carefully planned long toss and bullpen schedule. I also work on my mechanics everyday by doing dry work, in hopes of converting the motions to muscle memory. I also hit the weight room 4-5 times a week and do various cardio workouts between my starts; sprints, hills, and long distance runs.

Futhermore, I apply my hardwork and dedication to the classroom as well. I am a well rounded student, currently maintaining a 96.1 gpa, and I also take various honor and AP level classes. I also particiapate in many school clubs and baseball oriented volunteer work.

My goal is to attend an academically good school with a good baseball program to enrich my growth as a young adult. I am very coachable and love being taught new ways to improve my skills.
