Personal Statement
Hello. I'm Mitch. I am a Junior at Odessa Montour Central School. My goal is to be a student athlete at the collegiate level. I strive to be the best individual and student athlete I can.
I am a leader on and off the field. I currently am a member of our school’s student leadership team, hand-picked by our administration. I also am a member of our school’s student council. In the classroom I work hard as a student and currently have a 3.0 GPA.
On the field I lead by example, by performing at the highest level every day and encouraging all levels of players to do the same.
I have committed myself to the game of baseball by working with instructors who played professionally, my pitching instructor (Matt Burch) and hitting instructor (Brian Jones). I work out 6 days a week concentrating on different areas of my body to build the strength and endurance I need to be a competitive baseball player.
Being a High School Junior, it may seem a bit late for my public decision to be an athlete at the collegiate level. However, mentally and physically I have been working hard trying to reach my goal. Since the 8th grade I signed up for the best baseball opportunities that I could, based on the area in which I reside. I am open to all options and am striving to be a student athlete at a college which is the right fit for me.
I have the ability to be that individual who succeeds at the next level.
