Personal Statement
Dear Coach, My name is Cory Mannarino and I have a passion for baseball and to take it as far as I can, to the highest level I can. I am committed to always making improvements and am always willing to learn new aspects of my position while I also obtain a solid education in the classroom as well. Allow me to briefly explain my history of playing this sport. I have been playing since four and have competed for a championship on just about every level and have played in many tournaments in and out of state where I have played against some of the top youth talent in the country. Currently, I am starting on a new team called the Up To Bat Titans. I am 16 playing on the 16U team in the Diamond League, Connie Mack Division, which is the highest level in Northeast Ohio. Hopefully as you can see, I believe in pushing myself and team and am constantly seeking to improve. I love being a part of a team, and as good as some of the accomplishments felt on the field, I truly enjoy the memories created off the field and friends made through baseball. There is no greater feeling to me then being part of something where you all work together and to be able to do that in the sport I love is my dream. My main positions are first base and the outfield, but I have caught with a little pitching in there as well. I am going to strength training classes and speed and agility classes at XPE Fitness in Medina. I receive training from Mr. John Hutchings and push myself to new limits in the gym. Not only do I improve there, but I also do many things on my own at home and I see my strength improve every day along with my speed and agility. Off the field I am very involved in my church attending teen life nights once a week, attending youth retreats and working on service hours through my school. As you can see, I am committed to getting better in all aspects on and off the field and I would like to think I have a tremendous opportunity in this sport or whatever I choose to do in life. I give credit to my dad, my mom, former coaches, teammates and most importantly God for helping me get to this point. I would truly love any colleges consideration for scholarships and references. I can promise you right now, you will not be disappointed with me. Sincerely, Cory Mannarino
