Personal Statement
I am currently beginning the senior portion of the engineering program at my school and plan to pursue engineering in college. I have always excelled in mathematics and problem solving, both of which are important in this field. My GPA and ACT score are examples of how seriously I consider my education. My passion for sports started around age 5. I have played soccer, wrestling, football, and baseball. This year I have chosen to concentrate on baseball as I plan to further my education, while playing the game I love. I am very focused both on the field and in the classroom. I am a member of the National Technical Honor Society and enjoy the opportunity this program gives me to be out in the community helping others in need.
One compliment consistently given to me by my coaches throughout, is that I am a very coachable player. That I am committed to excelling and doing my part to better the team. Coachable to me, means the the ability to listen, apply, and change when needed. No one person makes a team. It is a group effort. Two years in a row I was selected by my teammates as captain of the football team. My sophomore year I was one of four chosen, by the coaches, to serve on leadership council for the varsity football team. I feel this speaks of my character as a person, and I do my best to never compromise that. Being considered a leader on and off the field, it's my responsibility to lead by example. I have never been disciplined in school or sports and I am a determined player and student when it comes to reaching goals I set.
I am very interested in furthering my education in college and playing baseball at the college level. I feel I am good candidate because of my versatility as a player. I pitch and also play at almost all infield positions. I hope that you will consider me as you look to add new players to your team in 2017.
