Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my personal statement.
As a two sport athlete, playing both golf and baseball, for the last 10 years I have divided my time equally between the two but unfortunately my summers have been spent playing travel baseball every weekend and, golf on the weekdays. I am finally realizing this summer that my passion is to play college golf. My resume for tournament golf is limited considering I haven’t played in many large scale tournaments because of my commitment to baseball. I am a four year letterman in golf, in which I finished Division 1 Second Team All-Conference this past year, I am a three time district qualifier, I was nominated and selected to go to The First Tee Life Skills and Leadership Academy in 2015, and I also finished second in my first Golf Week Magazine tournament shooting 82, 74 at Lassing Pointe in Northern Kentucky. I would also like to add that just recently I was selected on the Golf Channel’s Morning Drive to play in the Pure Insurance Championship with The First Tee at Pebble Beach and playing with PGA Tour Champs, September 22-24. With all of this being said here are some of my more notable rounds in the past two seasons.

Because my resume is so small, in order for you to get a better grasp on my skill set I have several videos on hand of my swing to get a better feel on where my game is at. I will send you those in a separate email. If possible I would be interested in talking to you and possibly discussing a visit. From an academic standpoint my ACT is at a 19, and GPA is a 3.0. Thank you in advance for your time, and I look forward to you hearing back from you.
In my recruiting process I emphasize on finding the right school not only athletically but, most important, academically and to obtain a scholarship as well to help offset the financial burden. Throughout this process I ask myself why a coach should choose me; First and foremost it is because of my honesty, desire, dedication and leadership skills. My love and desire is to compete at sports, I am a natural competitor whether it be at baseball, board games, ping pong, basketball and
golf. Bottom line is I love to compete.
I look forward to hearing from you and to answer any other questions that you may have for me.
Sincerely,
Trace N. Thomas
