Personal Statement
Early on everyone could see that I had exceptional hand eye coordination, and I initially played golf. When I was 6 years old I told my parents I didn't want to play golf because I wanted to be on a team. They signed me up for baseball and I have been in love with the game ever since. The feeling you get working together with your teammates is something you can't explain unless you've been there. My freshman year I experienced that feeling when I got to be a part of a group of guys who pulled together for that common goal. We were big under dogs and ended up being state runner ups after an amazing run that season. As a catcher, during my sophomore year I had to take on more responsibility and learn to become a leader. I feel like I matured as a player last year and feel ready to continue to improve my leadership skills in my upcoming junior year.
I'm looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I'm willing to look at all options regarding location and level of play. I have two more years to prepare and I am working hard toward my goal to play competitive baseball at the next level. Given the chance, I am confident that I would be a valuable asset to your academic and baseball programs.
