Playing baseball for thirteen years has been a great influence on my life. As a left-handed player, I grew up playing second base and outfield and eventually transitioned to a pitcher. Playing second base gave me versatility and speed I use in the outfield now. I decided to focus on baseball my freshman year. While playing varsity my freshman year, I got to experience what it takes to make a possible state playoff run on a team that was unranked. That season eventually came to an end in the quarter finals after losing to the number one team in our class. This gave me a new drive to make it back to the playoffs in my sophomore year. Unfortunately, that season came to an end after only four games due to CV19. I hit the summer of 2020 and the off season hard and gained velocity in both hitting and throwing, while having the opportunity to also play club baseball through summer and fall 2020. With only three seniors on our high school team for the 2021 spring season, I had to step up and become a leader in my goal to get another shot at a state playoff run.
I strive to help anyone on my team to get better in every area including academics and overall make the team better. I am interested in a program that provides a good fit for me academically and athletically. I have started planning for college by studying and taking the ACT test. I have been fortunate enough to have scored a 30 overall score at this time with plans to continue improving my score. Between my hard work ethic, experience, versatility and team leadership opportunity, I believe I can play for a college team and impact them for the better.
