I have had many accomplishments throughout my life. The accomplishment that marked my transition from childhood to adulthood was getting awarded first team all state for baseball. Although I have had many transitional accomplishments in my life this one changed me the most, it taught me composure, confidence, and leadership.
As a Pitcher all eyes are on you during the game. Sometimes things don’t go your way or get tough, as a pitcher you must learn how to stay composed in those times. Earning first team all state as a pitcher is not going to happen if you don’t have composure. I learned to get through tough situations during the game by always keeping my focus on the job I needed to complete.
I also learned to have confidence. Confidence came with having a good team to back me up. I learned that my teammates would always try their hardest to have my back when I was pitching, which gave me great confidence.
The most important trait I gained as a pitcher was leadership. Leadership is an important life skill that I was able to gain out of baseball. Earning first team all state as a pitcher marked my transition from childhood to adulthood by giving me these life skills. To earn First team all state I had to have Composure, confidence and leadership. All three of those traits are very important in everyday life. After gaining those assets, any tough situation or challenges in life will be much easier to conquer. Like the old saying goes "baseball is life".
