Personal Statement

My name is Andrew Keizur and I am a 5' 9", 180 lbs, Catcher.  For 2017 I will be a Junior at Century High School in Hillsboro, Oregon.  I have been the Varsity starting catcher for Century since halfway through my Freshman year.  I currently catch one pitcher throwing in the high low 90's and two others throwing in the mid 80's.  I take great pride in my ability to block, frame and save runs defensively.  I love calling games, being involved in every pitch and doing anything I can to give us an advantage in each game.

My two priorities are baseball and school.  I work hard at both so I can achieve my long term goal of playing baseball in college, getting a degree in business and securing a job as a head coach/scout.  I want to make baseball a career.

I believe I am a great candidate for your program for the following reasons:

1.  As a catcher, I understand the importance of being a vocal leader on and off the field.  Its my job to do all the little things that help my team like blocking, framing pitches and working with pitchers.  Same goes for hitting, clutch hits, laying down bunts and going the other way give us the chance to win.  I want to win.

2.  I have played baseball at the highest level since grade school and I am not afraid of playing in big games or at a high level.  I know I can contribute and make my team better.  I believe that is why I will be a four year Varsity starter for Century.

3.  I am a hard worker, a grinder.  There will always be players who are more talented, bigger and faster than me, but I will do anything and everything I can to improve and play until no one will let me play anymore.

I am looking to play for a college with similar goals who will help me achieve my dream of being a head coach or a scout.  Thanks for viewing my profile.
