Personal Statement
My name is Kai Ohmae. I'm 5'9 and weigh 165. I am a team leader and a competitor who strives for perfection. During my 2014 season with the South Salem varsity baseball team, I played mostly middle infield and couple games catching. Baseball is not just a game, it is everything to me. I have more respect for the game than most high school players because I believe in team work and sportsmanship. I have set a goal to play in DI or DII college baseball team. I work very hard and try to improve my infield, hitting, and catching skills everyday so I can achieve that goal. Being from Japan, I've had to adapt to a new environment and language. Since my freshmen year of high school, I've kept a GPA of 3.80 or higher through my junior year. Throughout high school, I have been taking IB honors classes and plan on taking them until I graduate in 2015. I have always wanted to major in sports medicine or pre-med. Since I was in 6th grade I've always wanted to learn more about how body works and wanted to include sports as well which at the same time, wanting to do something I love which is baseball.
