Andrew Szpindor '15 Recruiting Profile

My name is Andrew Szpindor and I am passionate about baseball.  I have been playing baseball since the age of 5 and my goal is to continue playing at the college level.  My entire family is driven by baseball with my brother and 5 cousins sharing my passion including one of my cousins getting selected in the MLB draft and my uncle being a major league scout/my mentor.

My baseball club/travel team experience include local legion teams, Evoshield Canes College Prep, Chandler Bat College Prep, and Lehigh Valley Iron Colts.  I have been fortunate to have success while facing top tier competition (D1 prospects) while playing at showcases at Diamond Nation, Flemington, NJ, Berkshire Baseball, and Brooklyn Bat Tournaments to name a few.

At the high school level, I was blessed to contribute on a team that won the 2014 PA State Title at the AAA level where I played 3B and pitched.  I am committed to the game and work hard to improve both during the season and in the off season.  I routinely work with a college pitching coach and participate in a pitching velocity program.

My parents have raised me right and taught me to be respectful and give back whenever possible.  I have volunteered at a local soup kitchen and have helped coach youth basketball over the last 3 seasons.  Feed back from coaches consistently includes "excellent work ethic" and "very coachable."  Regardless where I end up playing at the college level, I will strive to contribute to my team's success on and off the field, in the classroom, and the community.
