Dear College Coaches,

My name is Brett Steinle and I am a 2018 graduate who attends Seneca Valley High School in Harmony, PA. I am extremely passionate for the game of baseball and have dreamed to be able to play it at the collegiate level. 10/19/2016 - Arizona Junior Fall Classic Brett is a solid, athletic OF/RHP who has a tremendous future on the diamond. Foot speed is outstanding as indicated by his 60 time of 6.92. In the OF, defensive abilities are outstanding, displaying smooth/fluid actions. He takes proper first steps and gets on proper routes/angles in tracking down balls. Feet are aggressive as he works to get behind balls and plays through with momentum to his target. Range is a plus as he reads balls well off the bat and covers a lot of ground. He is not afraid to lay out and make a special type play. At the plate, he continues to shine, displaying well above average hitting abilities with solid power potential through an athletic setup. Hands are quick, (88 mph exit velocity) and work through a level swing path, creating extension. He has strength in his swing and works to stay inside the ball, utilizing all fields with gap to gap pop. Barrel accuracy is a plus and he does a nice job of staying on breaking balls well. Once on base, he utilizes his foot quickness as he shows solid base running instincts and will steal a base. Mental makeup is a plus as he has a great attitude, works hard, and is a solid team player. 6-foot, 160-pound primary outfielder posted solid numbers across the board. Ran a 6.88 60-yard dash and showcased athletic defensive actions with 83 mph arm strength to home plate. The right-handed hitter starts from a slightly open stance and initiates his swing with a controlled, toe-tap stride. Barreled the baseball consistently while creating some backspin with a bat exit velocity of 90 mph. Steinle sat 77-78 from a high 3/4 arm slot while pounding the zone with a four-seam and two-seam fastball, the later of which shows some arm-side run. Brett is a projectable OF/RHP prospect who is well-built and plays the game with good athleticism. As a right-handed hitter, Brett has an athletic, open stance with a centered balance and firm front side. He has smooth rhythm with his load and stays square with his stride. Brett shows fast bat speed with a direct, on-plane swing path producing consistent contact. He effectively obtains extension at contact and rotates nicely with his core. Brett is a line-drive type hitter who has the ability to drive the ball to each gap. In the field, Brett plays with fluid footwork and agile actions to cover good ground in each direction laterally. He gets behind the baseball and fields it in an athletic position with soft hands. He has a clean exchange leading into a loose arm action throwing from a high 3/4 slot. Brett plays with momentum through the baseball producing online, consistent throws with good strength. On the mound, this righty shows a clean, balanced delivery and throws strikes consistently. His fastball tops out at 80mph with good arm side run. Breaking ball sits from 60-63mph with 12-6 movement. Overall, Brett has an above average skill set on both sides of the ball and the talent to get even better.

PG Grade: 8.5 Brett Steinle is a 2018 OF/RHP with a 6-2 170 lb. frame from Seven Fields, PA who attends Seneca Valley. Large frame with a strong, athletic build. Frame projects for additional strength while maintaining athleticism. Ran a 7.07 sixty-yard dash. Primary outfielder with smooth, fluid footwork while closing to and working through the baseball. Clean glove actions while funneling and works through transfer well. Flashed solid arm strength generating accurate, on line carry to the bag topping at 84 miles per hour. Right handed hitter with a tall, upright stance and large leg lift trigger. Aggressively shifts into contact and swung with extreme intent. Barrel came through the zone on an uphill plane that generated good leverage. Present bat speed with strength at contact. Consistently turned barrel to baseball creating hard, loud contact throughout batting practice. Also pitched showing a small rock step to leg lift delivery. Stays balanced at gather and works to the plate with drop and drive actions. Loose arm action from a high three-quarters arm slot and generated good plane with run in the mid to upper 70's, topped at 79 miles per hour. Curveball had 11/5 shape with good spin and occasional depth. Also flashed a changeup with some wiggle to arm side in the upper 60's. Looked to fill the zone and consistently replicated arm action and tempo. Named to the 2017 National Academic Showcase Top Prospect list. Excellent student.

OF 5-7 125 R/R Brett Steinle is a 2018 OF/RHP/2B with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from Seven Fields, PA who attends Seneca Valley HS. Young, thin, developing build. Plenty of room to project additional strength, muscle as he matures. Right handed hitter, open stance setup, extended hand trigger, shifts into contact. Focuses on keeping hands inside the ball, line drive path, solid contact to the opposite field, repeats approach and mechanics consistently. Primary outfielder, moves to ball well, has quick release, works to low arm slot, accurate throws, developing arm strength. Also pitches, repeats delivery well, has good feel, can over rotate front side at times, able to throw strikes consistently. Long, loose arm action to 3/4 arm slot. Fastball up to 74 mph, slight run to arm side on offering. Also shows feel for low-60s curveball with 11/5 shape. Great student.
