Personal Statement
My name is Chandler Norman from Caldwell High School in Caldwell, Texas. I am a 5' 11"- 195 lb Senior who is very dedicated to the sport of baseball. I have been playing baseball since age 5 and truly love the game. I have played first base and starting pitcher on many championship teams and have always been the team leader both on and off the field. My greatest physical attributes are my strength, flexibility, endurance and my ability to be coached. I have always been the clean-up hitter on every team I have played on and have consistently had the best batting average. In addition to my physical strengths, I bring a variety of mental strengths as well. Such as the instinct to react quickly to surprising game situations and the ability to quickly select the best and most effective solution in a given game situation. I am a student of the game, taking personal batting and pitching lessons from some of the top coaches in the south Texas area. I also watch game footage of myself and the opposing pitching rosters in my league. I believe that to be the very best, I must constantly evaluate and re-evaluate my skills. My philosophy for playing the game of baseball is to continue to be a student of the game and to have fun enjoying the sport I love. I believe that you must respect the game of baseball, that it is a privilege to play the game, and that determination, hustle and effort are all elements of the game that any player can control. My goal is to play baseball in college and obtain a quality education while excelling on the field. I am really looking for a forum where I can continue to grow under experienced coaches while playing at a high level of competitive baseball. I am not satisfied with good, I strive for excellence in everything I do. I will bring drive, competitiveness, focus, and commitment to a team and am looking forward to having that chance. I hope to be a part of a winning program with a winning attitude.
