Diego Martinez '18 Recruiting Profile

Hello, I am Diego Martinez. I have a deep love for the game of Baseball. I exhibit this in my work ethic, my performance on the baseball field, and my knowledge of the game. I have strong academic abilities, never turning in a GPA lower than a 3.91. I use my knowledge of the game to think through situations to better my results on the field.  I bring a positive attitude to any team I play for by congratulating others for their successes, picking up players who are down, and always talking it up making sure my team stays alert. Athletically, I pour my heart out in everything I do on the field. Why? Because I love this game and cherish each moment I am on that field as if it were my last. I hit everyday whether it is during practice or on my own with a tee. I have devoted a lot of time into becoming the best player I can be. My goals for college are both academic and athletic. I want to to continue to play the game I love at one of the highest levels possible and work with collegiate coaches to turn myself into an MLB prospect. Academically I want to prepare myself for life after Baseball in the business side of the sport so that I can take my knowledge from playing the game and my knowledge of business to be successful in the front office of a big league team.
