Ryan Brome '21 Recruiting Profile

Being the son of an educator I wasn't allowed to play sports until my schoolwork was completed.  This helped me develop personal discipline that carried over into my athletic play.  I do not start things without goals and then completing them.  Though I have usually been the best player on my teams I do not look at myself as the "MVP", instead focusing on making every team I play for better.  No coach I have ever played for would dispute that as cold hard fact.  I am very goal oriented and have believed I would play at a Division 1 school ever since starting to play this game at 4 years old and I believe I have set myself up to do so.  After finishing the 8th grade my parents moved our family from Washington to Texas.  I remember them asking me if I wanted attend a lesser area program so I would be sure to make the team.  I responded to them that if I could not earn a spot on the best team it would be my answer to try something else.  I was the only player to play every inning as a Freshman and Sophomore year after hitting .535 for Junior Varsity I earned a mid-year call up to the Varsity squad starting games the second half of the year including playoffs. I know what it means to earn my spot.  My long term goal has always been to be a Division 1 collegiate athlete and my current coaches and high school success tell me I am on track.
