Playing along side two future MLB high draft picks in the outfield while being the only Sophomore position player on the Seven Lakes High School Varsity baseball team and played in both the Bi-district and Regional playoffs has to be the most exciting accomplishment of my baseball career to date. These two teammates taught me not only how to play the game the right way but more importantly how to appreciate the game and the time I have with it. They showed me that being successful was not all about me or just being physically good but that attitude and sacrifice were a huge part of success. Being a little under sized I felt that I had to work harder than my competition not only on the diamond but also off of it. As a first responder during Hurricane Harvey I experienced first hand what sacrifice truly is and what it takes to overcome adversity. I have continually tried to bring these values not only to the baseball field but also to the class room and other aspects of my life. I truly believe that my willingness to put in the extra time and effort when everyone else is off having fun led to my being chosen Captain of my team and more importantly an honor graduate. I also believe these values would make a perfect fit for a baseball team and a valuable student at any university. I am leader who will not quit until the last out is achieved.
