Personal Statement
Since 6th grade, I have had a goal to play college baseball. I understand that baseball is a game that requires daily work, sacrifice and commitment. To be the best player, every day must be focused, whether it be in the weight room, batting cages, or on the field. As a sophomore, I was able to compete daily in practice and earn the starting position on the defending state championship team at Christian Academy of Knoxville in left field, a position that I had never played. I am blessed to play for Tommy Pharr at CAK. He has taught me the value of being the best each day. I am not afraid of hard work. The tougher the challenge the harder I work.
I further desire to graduate with honors and have worked extremely hard in class. I have a 4.02 GPA. I would be a positive influence on any college team. I love baseball, competition, teammates, and working hard daily. I have been part of championship teams and know what it takes to step on the field daily, whether in practice or games, and compete for a position and to win.
I value time with both family and friends. I am active in non-sports related events, such as Student Senate, National Honor Society and in my church. I have been the sole recipient by the CAK faculty of the Leadership Award for the Class of 2017 in each of my first two years.
I am a team player and will do whatever it takes to win. I am very coachable and always willing to go the next step.
